So it is Wednesday, meaning I watch a trailer for a film and say stuff about it. Hoping to continue this on again, off again trailer round-up thing. So let me tell you about Ruby Sparks.
I have enjoyed the works of Zoe Kazan. I enjoyed her sexy student role in Bored to Death, and her small, I am ready to move on with my life role in It’s Complicated. And while The Exploding Girl was slow moving film, she made the character believable. Now we have Ruby Sparks, a film where she plays the title character alongside her real life boyfriend Paul Dano. The thing is while the trailer looks creative… I kinda just want to focus on Zoe.
Fine, I will keep talking about the film. I like the concept. It feels like a mix of Stranger than Fiction and any independent love story. The thing that the trailer lacks is, conflict. I really want to know what is the problem with all this. I mean one can assume it is control and the lack of knowledge behind creation but from the trailer it looks to be just a romantic film. And that is very little to complain about.

Upside Down trailer
There are so many taglines that could be used:
“This time, Kirsten is the one giving the kiss from above”
“The story you have heard many times, from a different angle”
“It’s a long way up” - Okay that one was pushing it, I am through.
Seriously? The character’s names are Adam and Eve? How lazy is that? Well I guess it is better than a deviation of Romeo and Juliet.
But it looks like a pretty movie to look at. Plus think of the architecture of the office building in a film like that. How do stairs work?
Kevin Conroy still and will always be the best Batman, while his voice is not in the mash-up, I just thought you should know.
I am going to miss the idea of an overarching enemy in Dexter this upcoming season but it would be difficult to one-up John Lithgow. This trailer puts me on edge by its brilliance. I am looking forward to way to much this upcoming fall season. I should make a list.
This is so amazing, a play by play of the Scott Pilgrim vs. The World trailer.
I do not think I have ever been so excited about a movie. I have picked up the comics once again, starting from the beginning catching up before number 6 comes out!
The little tidbits from the trailer makes me believe so much in this films adaptation of the comics. No other movie matters this year but Scott Pilgrim.
